*I suggest that you read the post and then watch the video :)
One in a state of perplexity or confusion is said to have a mental fog, or rather, that their mind is fogged. The term "mental fog" describes a state of perplexity, confusion, worry, uncertainty, or fear that clouds one’s mind. Such a state obstructs clarity and understanding, hindering progress.
The key to overcoming this fog is to "Defog Your Mind."
Until this internal clarity is achieved, external interventions like money or guidance remain ineffective.
While a mind in discord churns with fear, anger, envy, and greed, a mind in harmony enjoys serenity.
Two Common Paths: Bondage or Liberation
In the quest for clarity, individuals often opt for one of two routes:
1. Surrendering oneself to a group, individual, or religion, shackling the mind in exchange for survival.
2. Embracing self-mastery, unlocking the ability to confidently confront life's challenges and harness them for growth.
Unpacking the Two Main Drives in Humans:
The two primary inner urges of humans are:
1. Survival
2. Pursuit of happiness and avoidance of unhappiness
A survival instinct overrides all desires, resulting in essentials being prioritised over luxuries. As one’s basic needs for survival are met, their attention shifts to finding happiness.
Pleasure Pursuit: A Source of Suffering
The pursuit of pleasure often triggers mental anguish, stemming from wanting what is absent and trying to become what one is not. Mental unrest arises when desires go unmet or situations lack agreement.
Wisdom from the Srimad Bhagavad Gita
The Srimad Bhagavad Gita is a profound study of human nature and the mind. It addresses courage, values, social responsibility, and the law of cause and effect.
The scripture delves into human nature, management principles, social responsibilities, and the law of Karma. It offers guidance without religious rituals or commandments.
